We are situated on the edge of the village of Algodonales,which lies about one and a half hours drive inland from Malagaand nestles beneath the most popular paragliding and hang gliding  site in the area, the 3,300ft Sierra deLejar.It is central to the other sites in the region and is a traditional rural market town witha population of about 3,000.

Entering Algodonales you will be struck by the quaintnarrow streets and tree lined square. There are an adequate number of bars and restaurantsand even a couple of discos for the young at heart. It is so cheap to eat out that no one cooks unless its for fun.

The Plaza

The town forms a romantic picture in the evening as the redlight of the setting sun reflects a pink glow over the twinkling streetlights and whitebuildings.

The Region

Andalucia is famous for its pretty white-painted villagesthat gleam brilliantly in the intense sunlight and attract tourists from allover Europe. For those looking for culture and shops, 30mins drive south isRonda, famousfor its spectacular bridge over a 600ft gorge, which splits the town in two. There isclearly a great deal of historical interest here, with Old World Moorish atmosphere, goodrestaurants and a particularly attractive Sherry Cellar!

One hour away is Seville, an ancient citadel that hasevolved into a trendy, modern city without losing its fine buildings and grandioseatmosphere.

For those seeking more adventurous activities, the nearbyGrazalema National Park has peaks up 5500ft and Alpine like terrain popular withwalkers and birdwatchers.

Visitors will find lots of things todo, and the area has lots to offer nature lovers: walking, bird watching,botany.  The activities include climbing, caving, windsurfing,gorge running, mountaineering, paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking,fishing, walking.

To find Casa la parra,

As you drive into the village from the Ronda direction, our road Calle Alcala Del Valle is the second turn on the left (after the supermarket called "Aliprox" which is also on the left )You will see the sign of Ganter fly turn left down left there.

From sevilla direction as you pass the Repsol petrol station which is on the right take the first turn off for algodonales, follow directions into the village, drive through the village you will come to the plaza and church. Drive through the plaza as if you where leaving the village. Our street Calle Alcala Del Valle is is the third turn on the right once you have driven passed the church. You see the sign for Ganter fly's apartments turn right down left there.

Drive down to the end of the road Alcala Del Valle. As the road starts to level out you will see a set large green gate on the left number 49.

(There is a very large cream colored building to the right of us.(With large glass windows) Carry on slowly, you see the next set of gates on the left less than 30 feet along ( we are number 51) there is a bell on the left of the gate.
